Insecurity: Atiku charges Fed.Govt on safe return of Kidnapped police ASPs
Nigeria’s former vice-president and Peoples Democratic Party,PDP presidential candidate in last year general election,Atiku Abubakar charges President Muhammadu buhari’s led federal government to do everything within its power to ensure the safe return of the 12 assistant- supretenednts of police (ASPs) allegedly kidnapped by yet to be identified gunmen today according to BBC Hausa.
Atiku Abubakar took to his social media handle to make the call amidst the rising cases of kidnapping and banditry in some parts of the country.
“I am concerned like many men and women of goodwill that a dozen police officers, who are charged with the protection of our lives and properties, are themselves victims of kidnapping. No resource should be spared to free them” says Atiku Abubakar.
The twelve senior officers were reportedly arrested in a convoy going to Zamfara from Borno state in northeast.
One of the abducted officers already called his wife to raise N1M for secure his freedom from his abductors as soon as possible as his life is at stake.
“He called me on Wednesday and told me that he was in the hands of the kidnappers.
“I can’t tell you I have any other information. We are in a state of frustration,” says wife of one of the abducted officers as reported by BBC Hausa.
