The IGP Special Squad today arrested 9 suspects and 6 youths over the destruction of a Fulani camp in Odo Owa in Irepodun local government area of Kwara.

It was also gathered from multiple sources that the IGP Special Squad stormed the two Kwara Communities in the early hours of Saturday to pick up the suspects who allegedly participated in the destruction and burning of Fulani camps in Kajola, Odo-Owa, and a Hotel in Omu-Aran in April this year.

The arrests created tension in the Kwara communities as the restive youths of Odo Owa engaged the operatives from the Inspector General of Police office in Abuja who came to arrest a traditional chief and eight others over the destruction of Fulani camp (Gaa Fulani) in the town, in a gun duel.

However, this led to the arrest of 6 of the youths who engaged the police team in the gun duel. The IGP Special Squad also arrested the traditional chief who was said to have led the attack on the Fulani herdsmen camp and 8 others. Recovered from the restive youths were three pistols, Six Cutlasses, two axes, and two Motorcycles
