One of the newly liberated passengers on the kidnapped Kaduna-Abuja train, Dr. Mustapha Umar Imam, has described his time in the militant camp.

According to reports, five of the passengers who had been kidnapped had just been freed. Dr. Mustapha Umar, an associate professor of medical biochemistry at Usman Danfodio University, claimed to have been the camp’s doctor.

He admitted that they all went without meals for the first three months, even if they occasionally received food once daily. He claimed that victims who were elderly or under one year old were also left without food, particularly after the first three months following their bandit kidnapping on the Abuja-Kaduna train.

I provided medical care to both the bandits and the captives while working as a doctor in the camp. According to Dr. Mustapha Umar, who was quoted by AriseOnline News, there were no molestations in the camp, although several ladies claimed that the bandits had tried to molest them in the early going.

Even worse, I don’t want my adversaries to suffer through what I did while held captive by the bandit. We occasionally had to go days without food. Malaria did not have any drugs or therapies. Dr. Mustapha Umar admitted that it was a dreadful experience.
