The Hyundai Nigeria has unveiled Its electric car for the Nigeria Market, the Hyundai-Kona. The Hyundai-Kona was assembled in Lagos at the Stallion VON Factory Ojo area of the state.

The atmosphere at the factory was agog with excitement when the Executive Governor of Lagos state Mr. Babajide Samwoolu was on the ground to unveil the newly Hyundai-Kona electric car built to meet the country and the state demand for low-carbon emission transportation.

Mr. Babajide Sanwoolu while unveiling Hyundai-Kona the first Locally-Assembled Electric Car in Nigeria, admonished the company for bringing such an environmentally friendly product to Nigeria.

With the growing concern for climate change, the world is moving towards low-carbon emission and greenhouse energy. Ozono layer duplication has become a global concern.

Lagos State is one of the most populated states in Nigeria, with a population estimated around 22million, the commercial capital of Nigeria continues to see a large flock of people. At this time when low-carbon emission is the goal, Hyundai-Kona is a car that can help meet the growing demand for environmentally friendly transportation systems in the state as well as Nigeria.

According to Hyundai Nigeria, Hyundai-Kona is an all-electric vehicle that combines cutting-edge technology and sophistication of an SUV.

Hyundai-Kona is a versatile vehicle, rugged, with the right height and style. The vehicle redefines eco-mobility,  lifestyle-oriented vehicle and combines cutting edge technology with the sophisticated design of a small SUV.

Hyundai-Kona was first launched in 2018 in South Korea by the South Korean manufacturer Hyundai before it was gradually rolled out worldwide afterward. Hyundai-Kona is a five-door subcompact crossover SUV.

The Hyundai-Kona Electric is the second electric car from Hyundai after the Ioniq. The car comes in two battery versions 39.2 kWh and 64 kWh.

The Hyundai-Kona comes with the ‘ultimate’ trim features adaptive cruise control and along lane-centering which means this car meets the SAE standard for Level 2 driverless.
