A resident of Port Harcourt, Rivers State capital,Mr Anthony narrates how overzealous men of the ONELGA Security and Planning Committee (OSPAC) harassed and brutalises him in his street last night.

OSPAC is a state-owned taskforce that is saddled with tackling insecurity in Rivers state alongside the Police and other security agents.

” I was stopped by some gun-wielding men in my street while returning home from where i went to get some basic needs, when i stopped, they were speaking some funny slangs that i did not understand then suddenly, one of them shot into their air while another hit me in the face with a gun butt.

Following the attack and injury i sustained, i went to the nearest police station at Rumuigbo to make an official complaint but the police didn’t do anything’, says Mr Anthony.

The Port Harcourt resident who is in his mid 40’s decry the rate of harassment and brutality he and other residents of the oil-rich state go through daily in the hand of men of OSPAC.

“ONELGA Security and Planning Committee (OSPAC) members have become another nuisance in Port Harcourt and Rivers State as they take the laws into their hands” according to another resident of the state who prefers to be anonymous.
