A Twitter user has shared his experience of how he left Nigerian and later joined the US Navy as a sailor.

The Twitter user while lending his voice to the Endsars campaign in Nigeria, said Nigeria is a country that kills dreams. He said after many years of trying to join the Nigerian military body failed because he does not have a Godfather he opted to travel to the United States of America where he was letter accepted into the US navy after they saw the potentials in him.

He has encouraged other young, talented, and hardworking Nigerians to seek better opportunities outside the shore of the country. He believes that Nigeria as a country always kills dreams.

For days now Nigerians across the country have been protesting against police brutality, extortion, and wanton killings. The government is yet to make any meaningful move towards addressing the problem.

Some Nigerians have also jumped on the tweets to share their experiences.

One Twitter user replied; “Congratulations. Your story is similar to that of my friend. He tried to join Nigerian Army, Navy, Airforce, and some paramilitaries but wasn’t selected, because he had no Godfather until he joined British Army from here, he passed the selection and he got in.”

Another Twitter user who replied to the post said; “Your case is a clear example of how my friend was easily Integrated into the US Navy, after series of tests and trials to join the Nigerian Army, Navy & Airforce. The guy just wanted to serve!”
