Who Was Henry Patterson?

Patterson was born in Newcastle upon Tyne, England, on July 27, 1929, to an English father and a Northern Irish mother. Patterson published 85 novels, mostly thrillers, and spy novels, throughout the course of his six-decade career, selling more than 150 million copies. In addition, his works have been translated into 55 different languages. Henry rose to international prominence with his novel The Eagle Has Landed, set during WWII and initially published in 1975.

It was made into a British film of the same name (1976) directed by John Sturges, which sold more than 50 million copies.
