How Baba Suwe Nigerian Yoruba Actor Celebrated His 62nd Birthday Amidst Death Rumours
There is a series of rumours we heard from our celebrities sometimes, and it’s so common in Nigeria for us to hear diverse rumours concerning our celebrities, but in case of a death rumour that is relating to celebrities is something worthy of condemnation.
It’s quiet about a day that we heard rumours that one of the Nigerian Yoruba foremost movies Comedian, known as Babatunde Omidina a.k.a Baba Suwe is dead.
One blunder that is common about the norm of most Nigeria bloggers is that they love escalating rumour without doing thorough findings, they will only be zealous to write news later the will now found out that the news is absolutely fake.
Some months ago, a certain young Nigerian was popularised to be a carrier of the dreaded coronavirus, according to the escalated rumour the guy was said to be a cab operator who conveyed a foreigner who first brought coronavirus to Nigeria and the fake news have it that the guy has known that he has contracted the disease from the white man, hence vows to collect #100,000,000 from the Nigeria government else he would spread the virus.
Then I was at Benin-City, in Edo-State, where I watch the accused guy on ITV as he debunked the news that he has never been to Lagos state in two years and he Is unable to move a car, so how come the story is related to him.
So is the story of Baba Suwe whom the rumours have it that is dead.
Albeit, various blog sites and news platforms as debunked it, especially his co-actors like Bada Kolawole who had taken his Facebook page to debunk the rumours that Baba Suwe is alive and he his not just alive, he is hale and hearty especially as he is celebrated his 62nd years birthday two days ago on 22nd of August, 2020.
My own advice to all Nigerians is that we must be first assured before we become a news carrier, fake news destabilises society, it does not facilitate peace and harmony. Please let us desist from it.
Below is Nigerians reaction:
