Football: Liverpool youngster named Man of the match after debut cameo in UCL
Liverpool’s 22-year-old goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher has been named man of the match for his brilliant performance yesterday against Ajax. Kelleher started in goal for Liverpool against Ajax who are unbeaten in their last 17 UEFA Champions League away games.
Kelleher was prefered in goal for the Liverpool’s injury depleted Jurgen Klopp side and the youngsters did not disappoint.
The Cork-born youngster started his soccer career as a striker, later moved to midfield before sticking to goalkeeping all under the age of 23.
Kelleher’s performance for The Reds last night earned him the man of the match award in the game. He ensured Liverpool’s solitary goal was enough for the Merseysiders to qualify as the top of their group.
