Football: Lionel Messi scoop another LaLiga Award
Barcelona talisman, Lionel Messi scoop the LaLiga highest goalscorer award otherwise known as “Pichichi” for his efforts last season in the LaLiga Santander.
Lionel Messi claimed the Pichichi award for the 7th time in Barcelona colour after finishing as the highest goalscorer in LaLiga last season with 25 goals.
The six-time world footballer of the year found the back of the net twenty-five times last season for the Catalans side and added extra 21 assists.
Barcelona finished second behind current title holder Real Madrid last season following some poor run of results at the tail end of the season.
The Argentine forward’s future is uncertain at Barcelona with the prolific forward airing his displeasure with the Barcelona board before the former president of the club and the whole board resigned this year.
Lionel Messi contract will expire at the end of this season and Paris Saint Germain and Manchester City are the two leading club touted to sign him if Barcelona failed to agree on a new deal with him.
Barcelona has not given up on tying Lionel Messi to a new and improved deal at the club as they bid to keep him in Spain.
