Football: Germany Twins sets to retire from football in 2021
Germany iconic football twins Lars Bender and Sven Bender set to retire from active football in 2021 at the age of 32.
Lars and Sven are part of the high flying Bayer Leverkusen side that is second in the Germany Bundesliga this season behind Bayern Munich after 13 games.
Lars Bender has been playing for Bayer Leverkusen since 2009 after joining them from Bayern Munich while his twin brother Sven Bender joined Lars from Borussia Dortmund in 2017.
Both players have played their professional football career in their native Germany despite offers from clubs in England for their services a couple of years ago.
The duo contract will expire by the end of this season and they have chosen not to renew their deals.
The versatile twins who can both play in the defence and midfield are one of the most experienced members of the title-chasing Bayern Leverkusen side this season.
Lars Bender and Sven Bender will be 32 years in 2021 and they have announced that their footballing career will be coming to an end. It is yet to be known whether the duo will go into football management.
