Football: Arsenal Youngster named FA Cup Player of the round
Arsenal youngster, Emile Smith Rowe is named the Emirates FA Cup player of the third round following his brilliant performance for Arsenal against Newcastle in on Saturday.
Emile Smith Rowe started for Arsenal from the bench as the North London side progressed to the fourth round of the FA Cup. The youngster scored the first goal in extra time as Arsenal dumped Newcastle out of the FA Cup.
The 20-year-old attacking midfielder polled 61.8% of the total votes of 51,685 to emerge the player of the third round of the FA Cup. Smith Rowe has become an important part of the Arsenal first team this year after some brilliant cameo for the North London side.
The English youngster scored the opening goal in the FA Cup fixture against Newcastle minutes after his red card was rescinded after video assistant referee check.
Emile Smith Rowe and Arsenal are on course to defend their FA Cup title which they won last year. Arsenal is the most successful team in the FA Cup in history with fourteen titles.
