FG Gives New Update On January 18 School Resumption Date.
The Presidential Task Force on COVID-19 led by Boss Mustapha said January 18 school resumption date is still intact until new directives are given.
The National Coordinator of the Task Force, Dr. Sani Aliyu, said this during a television program on Tuesday day.
On Monday, the Minister for Education, Adamu Adamu, said the January 18 school resumption date is no longer feasible because of the increase in COVID-19 cases across the country. He said his ministry will meet the decision on a new resumption date for schools in the country.
While speaking on Tuesday, Dr. Aliyu Sani said the minister didn’t say schools will not resume on the scheduled date, he said there is consideration to review the date.
He concluded that the earlier announced date is still intact until a new decision is made by the Ministry of Education.
The Nigeria Center for Disease Control has recorded more than 100,000 positive cases of the virus in Nigeria.
