FG 774000 jobs would finally takeoff as Federal Government announced a new date for commencement.
The Federal Government has previously announced in May this year that the engagement of unemployed Nigerians for a period of 3 months would take-off in August but the fallout between the State Minister for Labour and Employment Mr. Festus Keyamo and the members of the National Assembly over the modus operandi to be used in engaging Nigerians in the FG 774000 jobs across the 774 local government has caused a delayed in the taking off of the Programmes
However, the federal government has announced a new date for commencement. The announcement was made today by the Minister of State for Labour and Employment Mr. Festus keyamo in his official twitter handle.
The Minister Tweeted;
“Mr. President has approved the request of @fkeyamo to reschedule the commencement date of the Special Public Works Programme from 1st October to the 1st of November, 2020. The programme is engaging 1000 persons from each of the 774 LGAs in the country for menial jobs for 3 months”
There are reports and assumption in some quarters that the new date for the commencement of the FG 774000 jobs is in connection with the ongoing Endsars protest that is currently ravaging the country. According to our in-house analyst, the ongoing ASUU strike and the disengaged Npower volunteers have contributed to the ongoing protest as many youths are left doing nothing.
The Federal Government is doing all things possible to quell the ongoing protest before it becomes something else. The federal government has already ordered the immediate disbandment of The SARS unit of the police force and the IG of police have issued an order that all disengaged SARS officers are to report to Abuja for Psychological Assessment
Whatever, the case may be the new date of the commencement of the FG 774000 jobs is a good development, as many Nigerians are already bearing the harsh economy meltdown as a result of the Covid-19.
