Fayose Went to Buy Bread at a Retail Store in Ekiti, See What People Did To Him.
Two terms Governor of Ekiti State, Ayodele Peter Fayose, went to get bread at a retail store in his state on Saturday evening, he was handsomely welcomed and cheered by a mammoth crowd at the store.
The former governor and a strong member of the opposition party, People’s Democratic Party, suddenly appeared at the store without any prior notice, the bread seller and other customers waiting to get their bread were overwhelmed with joy upon sighting the politician. They quickly rallied around him, taking selfies and raised alarm for others to see the grassroots politician.
Some also told the former governor to return and run for an elective seat in Ekiti State because they are suffering and they’ve missed him already.
Ayodele Fayose left office in 2018, his preferred candidate lost the election to Governor Kayode Fayemi.
It takes extra courage and confidence for a Nigerian politician to be free with people at the grassroots. Many Nigerian political leaders move with heavy security and rarely visit the grassroots unless during the election period. Even councilors live far away from their constituents.
Fayose is known to be a grassroots politician even when he was in office as the Governor of Ekiti State. At times, he will visit local restaurants and eat with the people. He rode on a motorcycle, played games, and always associate himself with the masses.
