Falz May Face Future Trouble Over His New Song As It Contains These Type Of Lyrics
Falz, the Nigerian rapper, and activist released a new track which he titled ” Johnny.” The lyrics of the song depict an account of the dreaded event on the 20th of October, 2020, that happened in Lagos state.
The event was a nationwide protest organized by the Nigerian youths who proclaimed that they are tired of police brutality.
Before the event, the Nigerian police had been guilty of so many real offenses such as extortions and extrajudicial killings of citizens.
Thus, it resulted in the Nigerian youths’ actions against the Nigerian police, in which many Nigerian celebrities home and abroad supported the Nigerian youths.
When the Nigerian President noticed that the protest was fast gaining International attention, the government announced that the SARS ( police unit that was guilty of the task) has been dissolved. Still, the youths were skeptical about the government claim. They alleged that the government is treating the matter with levity. Thus they proceeded with the protest.
These are when some celebrities like Falz, Eedris Abdulkareem, Tiwa Savage, Dj Switch, among others, aroused to contribute their quota to the development, and the result was that the youths are more motivated, but the end was an explosive finish.
What follows afterward was the killings of the youths by some unknown soldiers.
The celebrities were so lucky because none of them was killed or mutilated, but what they are facing at present is an indictment by a fellow Nigerian who claimed to have been traumatized by the youths during the protest.
Falz, who appeared to be the main focus of the complainants, meant to go any length in dealing with all the accused, and we are unable to predict what will end the case.
However, the new song that Falz just released is a tribute to the Nigerian youths who died in the attack on the 20th of October at the Lagos tollgate. Still, the last stanza of the song is full of ineffable words that may incite the Nigerians against the police force. Thus he was supposed to deviate from such lyrics that may cause him some future trouble from the Nigerian police.
In the last stanza, which goes thus:
Johnny just drop
Na PO po shoot am down
This motherfucking trigger happy nigga
Just cause unnecessary sorry for em family sha
All because dem no oblige you when you ask for some cash
No fucking dreads no weapons
Just him and his guys in his car
You have the guts to tell me you accidentally discharge
Mad man waka
You are a bloody bastard
You waste a life and try to tell me
That you sorry after
Trying times and dark days
It’s just becoming darker
It’s still the same sad story
Just another chapter
Johnny drop for Borno
Johnny kpie for Plateau
Some blame it on religion
Some dey fight for Malu
Johnny drop for Lagos
Cause a foolish man overdo
Johnny continue to drop
Eyan Melo ma Ku
All the words in the stanza are inciteful and may result in chaos amidst the populace because it was full of violent suggestive comments; hence he should deviate from it to any future trouble
