Steps to get extra 10k over a failed bank transaction
If you have any failed transaction from the bank and they have failed to revert the funds. Do this and you’ll get your money back in 24 hours max.
Step 1. Write a compelling email to “firstname.lastname@example.org” or tweet at @cenbank’s Consumer Protection Department CPD with all relevant details.
Step 2. Copy your bank’s customer care email, or Twitter handle.
Step 3. Attach all the evidence you have.
Step 4. The Central Bank has a directive in place whereby if your money is not returned 24 hours after you have registered a complaint. The bank has to pay you 10k. Please don’t forget to include this to the mail it Tweet.
Note: This applies to both failed POS and ATM transactions.
According to the CBN, when you use your bank ATM or POS and reversal doesn’t happen immediately, then the bank has 24 hours max. If the failed bank transaction happened when you use another bank then 48 hours is the time limit.
Banks have no excuse for holding you money for 2 weeks like they do in some cases.
