EPL: Jesus, Mohamed, scored as Reds draw Citizens at the Etihad
English Premier League defending champions Liverpool and Machester City played a one-all draw at the Etihad Stadium in their league encounter with Mohamed Salah and Gabriel Jesus on the scored sheet for both teams.
Liverpool opened the scoring from the Penalty spot after Kyle Walker’s foul on Sadio Mabe inside the 18-yard box was adjudged to be a penalty with Salah coolly slotting the ball past Ederson.
Gabriel Jesus leveled for the host in the 30th minutes before Belgian midfielder Kevin De Bruyne failed to convert City’s penalty in the 42nd minute.
The game ended in a one-all draw at full time with both sides unable to find the winner in the second 45 minutes at the Etihad.
During the game, Liverpool wingback, Alexander Arnold sustained an injury to join Virgil Van Dijk at the treatment table and he is likely to miss the next International break duty with The three Lions.
The draw at Etihad means Liverpool is now third on the English Premier League table behind Leicester City in first and Tottenham in second going into the international break.
2016/2017 English Premier League winner Leicester City will top the EPL table until after the international break after their win against Wolves today at the King Power Stadium.
