The Central Bank of Nigeria has obtained a court order to freeze bank accounts of twenty influencers who championed the ongoing #ENDSARS protest. People Gazette reported.
The court order obtained by People Gazette shows the account name and number of the twenty protesters.
It was also reported that the Nigerian Immigration Service has compiled a no-fly list that contains names of #EndSARS promoters. A lawyer who volunteered for the ongoing protest was stopped from traveling out of the country and her passport was seized by the immigration officers.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs had earlier denied that the federal government is compiling a no-fly list to target protest leaders.
The protest which lasted for about two weeks shakes the whole country as thousands of Nigerians stormed the street in Lagos, Port Harcourt, Abuja, and other cities demanding the eradication of the Special Anti Robbery Squad of the Nigerian Police Force and end all forms of police brutality.
The peaceful protest was later hijacked by hoodlums who looted and destroyed many properties across the country.
