Election: Okonjo-Iweala reacts as African richest man back her for WTO top job
Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, Nigeria’s former Minister of Finance , who is currently vying to become the next president of the World Trade Organization reacts as African richest man and fellow compatriot, Aliko Dangote put his weight behind the renowned economist for the top job.
Aliko Dangote took to his social media handle to call for support for Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala for the WTO President job.
“In these challenging times @WTO needs the renowned skills and tested experience of Dr. Ngozi Okonjo Iweala @NOIweala to lead the organization through identified obstacles and strengthen its position as the prime facilitator of international trade” says Dangote.
“Thank you Aliko my Brother for these wonderful words. As a globally acclaimed Businessman your knowledge about WTO and your confidence in my ability to serve is much appreciated” says Okonjo-Iweala while reacting to Dangote’s recommendation.
Both Okonjo-Iweala and Dangote are renowned and successful Nigerians in their different field. The latter is arguably the most successful businessman in Nigeria today with his business empire cutting across agriculture, petroleum, cement production,me others.
Ahead of the World Trade Organization poll, Ngozi Okonjo Iweala is gaining massive support within and outside Africa. She is the oldest contestant for the top job.
