“My palace will not coerce a candidate into stepping down for another candidate in the state” read the statement released in the palace.

Edo State is currently a hotbed of political scheming with the ruling APC disqualifying the current governor Godwin Obaseki from the party.

Godwin Obaseki also renounced his membership of the party in the state and he is set to join another party with his followers.

Meanwhile, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu is APC leading candidate ahead of the party primary election this month.

Ize-Iyamu is counting on the backing of the party suspended national chairman, Adams Oshiomole to emerge APC candidate.

Embattled Oshiomole suspension from the party by an Abuja High Court was upheld this week by the Appeal Court.
