There have been reports circulating that the WHO Director-General Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus is supporting the Tigray leaders. In his statement he said he is not supporting anyone, he supports Peace.
Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus started his statement by calling for peace and he also urged the conflicting parties to reconcile to enable humanitarian aid get to the needy.
As the WHO Director-General, Dr Tedros said he is concerned about the health of the people as the pandemic becomes more intense.
He also added that when he was a child, he experienced war and he could remember the death toll and the destruction it made.
He also lent his support to the United Nations Secretary-General in calling for peace and to immediately stop the ongoing tension in the country.
