Diogo Jota who played his first game with Liverpool yesterday night could have had a hat-trick after he came on last night for the reigning English Champion against Arsenal at Anfield.
The Portugal international missed what would have been a fine finish after he had a chance taken off him by the Egyptian Mo Salah.
Just 10 minutes into the game Diogo jota later scored a wonderful half-volley after receiving a poorly deflected crossing from David Luiz, he placed the ball in the far end of the Arsenal post with finished with great composure.
Speaking after the game, the newly recruited player showed appreciation to the entire Liverpool squad for accepting him into the team without any form of animosity.
Diogo Jota: “It means a lot to me that they all came to celebrate with me. They are the world champions but the way they have received me, I can only say thank you. I hope we can do great things together.”
“When you arrive at a team that is world champions, you always try to adapt as quickly as possible. “The way they received me is exceptional. I just thank them for that.”
Liverpool has now won 3 games out of the 3 games played since the start of the season putting them in the second position below Leicester in goal difference.
Diogo jota moves to Anfield this summer may be a great signing and help Jurgen Klopp have a better attacking option.
