Death is inevitable. Every man created are bound to die, but there is no one on earth that will die without one reason or the other.
Some people are killed by a fellow human, while some died at their appropriate time scheduled by God, the creator.
Some are killed during a catastrophe, while so many died because of horrible infirmities, but there is one agent of death which numerous human are oblivious about, and that is poverty.
Poverty kills faster than even a disaster or infirmities.
Poverty can result in infirmity at the same time pays way to disaster to take one’s life, how can this be?
A poor man that can’t afford a better house will surely live In any available place, it can be a primitive house that is not in good condition, hence wherever there is a heavy downpour the house may be flooded, and that can happen at any moment it can be even in the midnight.
That is how poverty shortened the life of man.
As poverty spread its tentacles to a common man, it touches the body of even a rich man, famous men or women. Poverty is just like rain, it rained on whoever it sees.
The purpose of this article is to expose you to some Nigerian celebrities who died because of their poverty status, they died because they cannot meet up with their demands, especially when they are down with infirmities they could not stand financially.
There are some mistakes we Nigerians make when discussing our celebrities, we believe they are all contented because of their appearance on screen, through this article you will know that being a super celebrity did not say you can never be faced with depravity.
Now, let look at what really happened to these Nigerians artiste prior to their deaths.
Sam Loco- Efe: Is a Nigeria talented comic actor known for hilarious roles. He was born in Enugu in I945 to a Benin father. Prior to the demise of this talented actor, life was not fair to him, he did not have a house either did he ride a car. He was found dead in a hotel at Imo state, where he locked himself up in 2011.
He was taken to Benin-city his ancestral home for burial.
Alabi Yellow: His real name is Samuel Akinpelu, he began his acting career in the early 70s. He is one of the most talented Nigerian comic actors, despite his popularity he was unable to afford good health care when he was down with stroke. He died at the age of 62 in his Ikorodu home in December.
Ajigijaga: His real name is Mufutau Sanni. He was popular for his criminal role in the Yoruba movies. He is one of the pioneers of Nigeria movies production, most Nigerians believed he is wealthy before his death, unbeknownst to them that he only had a jalopy car during his lifetime. He was involved in a fatal accident along Ijoko road in Ogun state, in 2015.
Instead of his people to take him to a hospital, due to his financial instability, he was taken to his house in Oko- Oba, in Agege where he died, on July 31st, 2015.
Olumide Bakare: Is a Nigeria actor known for his wealthy man role.
He is known for his versatility, as a Yoruba actor, he had also featured in numerous English speaking soap operas.
It was so unfortunate to know that despite his wealthy man role, he could not pay for his bill when he was diagnosed for heart and lung disease.
He spent months in the hospital, but the contributions made by his colleagues could not be met up when he died in 2017 at the age of 64.
Gbolagade Akinpelu: He was popularly known as Ogun Majek. The only thing this actor achieved was his only house which he built at Ibadan, the capital of Oyo state.
He died in his house because he can’t afford a hospital bill, after a brief illness.
There is one point I will like to raise about we Nigerians, we should not judge our celebrities by there appearance on screen, their appearance on screen did not postulate their health or financial status.
Let us known that their profession pertains to the pretext of what they do not worth, thus we must help them when they need it.
For instance, some months ago, Kayode Olasehinde who is known as Pa James, could not afford a better home, his house was flooded during a heavy downpour that occurred in his street.
It was Funke Akindele a co-actor that assisted him financially to assisted a better home.
Additionally, just of recent Segun Remi a.k.a chief Kanran, another actor was tormented by the vicissitudes of life. After the demise of his wife, his house got burnt and he was left with nothing.
Conclusively, let us all know that the rich also cry. We must jettison the belief that since they are notable face they must be very rich, although there some that are super rich but we must know that all fingers are not equal.
