The Deputy Minority Whip, is known for his sagacity and tenacity with a keen interest in development, reduce poverty and unemployment from his Constituency and indeed the state in general.

In his bid to encourage the youth on technology and development, he has ensured to facilitate a program on Google Digital training.

The participants were carefully selected from all the government owned higher institution in Ogun State. Also the members of the National Youth Council of Nigeria were also considered.

Over 200 youths of the National Youth Council of Nigeria across the state, and students of 14 public tertiary institutions across the state, will be trained on Google Digital Skill Training.

-Recharge Card Printing and Selling

-Coding.

 

The youths sha go home after the training with a brand new laptops loaded with ₦10,000 worth of data as start up support.

According to the Deputy Minority Whip, Hon. Adekoya, the second phase of the youth empowerment programme will also be activated in January 2021.

 

This ongoing empowerment initiative is one of the initial five (5) other ones that have earlier been completed for various categories of vocations for women and youths. The current one ends on Friday 18th December, 2020.

 

COVID-19 protocols have compelled the organizers to schedule the training into two phases: now and 2021 as there is need to comply with the rules guiding social gathering.

 

Rt. Hon. Adekoya Adesegun Abdel-Majid, the Deputy Minority Whip, wishes and hopes that trainees and beneficiaries will make positive and meaningful use of the empowerment initiative to become employers of labour and expand the scope of economic buoyancy for all.

This maxim explains why the House of Representatives member representing Ijebu-North/Ijebu-East/Ogun Waterside Federal Constituency of Ogun state, the Deputy Minority Whip, Rt. Hon. Adekoya Adesegun Abdel-Majid (ATTACKER) has in the last two months been bringing youths, women and other interest groups from his Constituency and beyond together in his bid to build capacity and reduce poverty and unemployment from his Constituency and indeed the state in general.

Commencing from Tuesday, 15th December, nothing less than 200 youths from the 14 public tertiary institutions in Ogun state and members of the National Youth Council of Nigeria will gather at the Omo-Ilu Foundation Centre, Ijebu Igbo for a Google-powered training in:

Vocational Courses in

– Graphic /Website design
-Video Editing
-Social media Marketing
-Recharge Card Printing and Selling
-Coding.

Participants will go home after the training with brand new laptops and each loaded with ₦10,000 worth of data.

The training which was initially planned to accommodate 400 youths at a time has to be re-organized to now be done in two batches in compliance with the COVID-19 protocols.
Moreso, the second phase of the pandemic is here with us and our people’s well-being is our major concern.

The Chairman of Ogun state National Youth Council of Nigeria, Comrade Abdul-Jabar Ayelaagbe in his words of appreciation to the Deputy Minority Whip for his love for the Youths said: “I want to specially appreciate your love, passion and commitment to youth development”

He ended his gratitude with prayers for the Rt. Honorable thus: “May Almighty God continue to strengthen you and protect everything that’s yours”

His gratitude and prayers came on the heels of the capacity training which Youths and Women from across our Federal Constituency have had in the past two months when they participated in: Training on Cosmetology and Beauty Products; Training on Tie and Dye, Adire Production; Capacity building and Economic Empowerment in Aquaculture (Fisheries) Production; Training and empowerment on Fisheries for Unemployed youths; and Training on Snail Farming all of which will be crowned with the Empowerment programme starting from tomorrow, Tuesday 15th December, 2020.

The second batch of the empowerment and capacity building workshop comes up in January 2021.

As far as Rt. Hon. Adekoya Adesegun Abdel-Majid (ATTACKER) is concerned, his Constituents are his reasons for being in government.
