Deontay Wilder has agreed a step-aside deal to allow Tyson Fury pursue the unification match with Anthony Joshua.

This release which was announced today came after there were serious claims that Deontay Wilder wants a rematch of the bout that saw him loose his unbeaten to Fury in the month of February earlier this year. However the issues concerning Wilder stepping down so that a unification bout between Fury and Joshua has been finally settled as Wilder has agreed to step down.

It would be recalled that the Bronze bomber suffered his first professional defeat in a bout between him and Fury. In the bout that lasted just 7 rounds Wilder was badly beaten and punched by Fury and by the seventh round his trainer had to throw in the towel in order to prevent a total mess. Fury was declared the champion that night and for once in his lifetime Deontay Wilder was humbled.

After the bout between Wilder and Fury. It would be recalled that Fury had made his intentions known to fight Anthony Joshua before he goes into full retirement.

Anthony Joshua made his intentions known about fighting Tyson Fury also. however a major hindrance to this bout taking place is weather Deontay Wilder will step down or not. However that has been resolved and we could just in the next couple of months be having the bout. At the moment, Anthony Joshua is set to fight Pulev a match that was postponed due to the covid-19 outbreaks but which is currently being decided upon. It is evident that the bout between AJ and fury will most likely take place next year.

Fan have however commended Deontay Wilder on stepping down saying it was a wise decision because according to some if Fury should win the bout and retired all the belts will become vacant and the unification process starts all over again.

Others commended him because stepping aside will mean that he was paid some amount. And in some people’s opinion he was paid to do nothing.
