Dele Ogundipe The Genesis Parish Founder Sentence To Two Year’s Imprisonment
It’s so pathetic to hear that the people we believed to be the man of God are the people guilty of ineffable crimes.
Yesterday, the high court sitting in Lagos state sentenced the founder of Celestial Church of Christ Genesis parish, situated in Akera axis of Lagos state, to two years imprisonment after being guilty of defrauding a London-based architect a sum of 17 million.
The victim was said to be named Mrs. Olaide William, according to her, she claimed to have been sending the money to the accused to help her acquire landed property, but the accused used the money to cater for himself.
Dele Ogundipe having pleaded guilty, beseeched the court to give him a moment to put a call to his allies who will make the money available, but the judge insisted that why did he allowed the matter gets to court when he had allies who can pay the sum on his behalf.
The judge was reticent about the demand, but Dele’s counsel who was presence in court pleaded that Dele is a father to many people, thus he should be given a second chance to rally round, that there is assurance to get the money.
The judge concluded that Dele should serve the government of the land two years jail term, for trying to get away with Olaide’s money and also blackmailing her that he fathered her child.
