Cybercrime: Ogun Monarch lands in Police net over Alleged N150M Romance Scam
Men of the Nigerian Police have arrested one Adetokunbo Tejuosho,the traditional ruler of Kemta Community in Odeda Local Government of Ogun State over an alleged N150M romance scam.
The Olu of Kemta,Oba Adetokunbo Tejuosho, who is single at the time of his arrest was allegedly involved in romance scam running into millions and multiple forgeries.
The Ogun Monarch lured his victims through the social media by promising them marriage and other benefits.
Adetokunbo Tejuosho was arrested following a petition written by an unknown lady to the authority over the fraudulent acts of the monarch.
He target his victims who are wealthy ladies through Facebook and Instagram while promising them marriage. Kemta monarch was upgraded from Baaleship to Obaship position during the administration of Senator Ibikunle Amosun in Ogun State.
Several of Oba Adetokunbo Tejuosho’s victims have sent petitions to the Ogun State Traditional Council of Obas over his activities on social media.
In a petition to the police dated March 26, 2021, through J. Agada and Co, legal practitioners, one Halima Oniru had accused Oba Tejuoso of swindling her and her company of N150 million.
According to the lady, Tejuoso had promised to marry her, claiming that his wife had left him.
After commencing the relationship and gaining her trust, he proposed many businesses to her, and eventually succeeded in defrauding her of the N150 million.
A reliable police source who does not want to be named confirmed that Oba Tejuoso’s arrest was effected from Abuja.
