You can’t learn enough of the tactics in cyber crime these days. That’s why you need to be extra careful and read articles on security especially when your work is based on Computing.

Almost every work is IT-Orientated since working at home has become the order of the day.

So Many  attacks are executed through phishing emails. In your corporate or personal network, do not open emails from unknown sources. It can install malwares like viruses, worms, trojan horse or a ransomware on your device.

When you see an email from unknown sources that says open the attachment, please do not. That file may be a ransomware. There are malwares that are installed on your laptops, iPad, phones, you do not even know that they are there.
What they do is to move information from your laptops, tablets and phones to the hacker. Downloading free softwares every where on the internet will get you and your company in trouble. Companies and individuals need to improve their IT security awareness. It’s cyber crime agents.

More so, When you get an email, text , chat, and a request is made for money from a known source, pick up your phone and call.
That may be a spoofing attack/scam Do not ever send money, recharge cards to a ‘known’ person until you have confirmed that you are actually dealing with the right person.

There is another one, unsolicited job interview address sms sent to your phone or email. This has happened to me times without number. I never went for any job interview but I would recieve Sms stating I should come for an interview and even receive a phone call as reminder. Don’t be too desperate. Except you applied for a work through the internet and it’s the same company name. Cyber crime is perpeltrated in many ways.
