Busy Tuesday in Accra: Look at What Jonathan Was Spotted Doing in Ghana Today
Former President Goodluck Jonathan was in Accra, the capital city of Ghana on Tuesday, September 15th, 2020.
The former president attended an Extraordinary meeting of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), he briefed the ECOWAS leaders on the sociopolitical crisis going on in Mali.
After the ECOWAS meeting, Goodluck Jonathan also participated as a panelist in a Commonwealth virtual conference on 40 years of Commonwealth’s Election Observation.
The former president disclosed this on his Twitter handle on Tuesday evening.
He said: “BUSY TUESDAY IN ACCRA. I was able to take time off an intense Ecowas meeting in Accra on the #Mali socio-political crisis to participate as a panelist in a @commonwealthsec teleconference on 40 Years of Commonwealth’s Election Observation.”
“It was an engaging session that offered the distinguished panelists the opportunity to explore creative ways of providing more impactful observer support to electoral processes across the commonwealth, towards promoting democracy, good governance, peace, and prosperity.”
On Monday, Goodluck Jonathan was in Cote d’Ivoire where he visited the president of the country and the widow of the country’s former president.
As a special envoy to Mali, he visited the country several times in the last two months meditating for peace in the troubled nation.
