Muhammadu buhari has given the long-awaited speech about the relaxation of Lockdown in Ogun, Lagos and FCT. He has made a lengthy speech praising Nigerians for their cooperation all through the Lockdown.

He admonished the security operatives who maltreated the citizens over enforcement of Lockdown. (He was obviously implying to the police that was killed by a fellow officer in River state among others)

There would be relaxation of Lockdown in the three States, Lagos, Abuja and FCT and curfew to be placed by 8pm to 6am. kano to be on Lockdown for two weeks.

There would however be a restriction in various religious institutions in Nigeria and the necessary measures and precautions to be taken more seriously; social distancing. There would be a compulsory use of face masks in Lagos according to the State Governor, Babajide Sanwolu. This is to ensure the disease does not escalate. As we all know, one of the most essential duty of Government to protect lives and properties.

With all said by Mr President, he didn’t make mention of one thing. School resumption.
Should we be worried?

Could this be a deliberate silence or it is for the state Government to decide. Before now, there has been a plan by Mr President for the tertiary institutions to receive lecture on Nigeria Television Authority (NTA) and Federal Radio cooperation of Nigeria (FRCN). This in conjuction with the Ministry of Education.
