A similar accident at that same spot some years ago led to the destruction of properties worth millions of Naira. The fire that broke out as a result of the accident engulfed a nearby car dealer shop burning cars and destroying properties.
Yesterday, men of the Lagos state fires service, Ogun state fire service, and Federal fires service battled a raging inferno at the Kara link bridge between Ogun state and Lagos where a petrol tanker also fell over and burst into flames.
The explosion that follows resulted in the death of 2 persons and the destruction of vehicles along the Lagos-Ibadan expressway. Nigerians have been warned to always desist from the acts of trying to scoop fuel from fallen petrol tankers as they are endangering their lives.
