In line with the Federal Government directives to decongest prisons across the nation and protect inmates from Coronavirus, Kebbi Governor Atiku Bagudu has released 111 prisoners.
This development was confirmed on the official Twitter handle of Kebbi State Government, @KBStGovt. They wrote in a post around 9pm, April 22;
”Gov Atiku Bagudu has approved the release of 111 inmates in line with a Presidential directive to decongest prisons & protect inmates from #COVID19. According to @KBStGovt AG Ramatu Adamu and CJ Justice Sulaiman Ambursa, some had fines paid and all got N10,000 welfare. #StaySafe”.
