Beirut, capital city of Lebanon has been in the news for the worst reasons in the past 24 hours. After the apocalyptic explosion which sent the city into shock on Tuesday, killing over a 100 people, and leaving more than 4000 others injured, reports have it that many more people are still missing.
Rescue workers and relatives of missing ones have continued their frantic search for their loved ones since the early hours of today, Wednesday, 5th August.
The man pictured above, Issam, survived more than 10 hours under rubble in the Beirut explosion, Lebanon. Rescue teams pulled him out earlier today.
Also, death toll is now well over 100, while more than 4000 have been confirmed wounded.
According to CNN, hundreds of people have been reported missing by family members in the aftermath of Tuesday’s horrific blast. The reports have raised fears that total death toll might far exceed the current estimate of 100. Residents continue to search and hope to find their loved ones, just as Issam was found.
The strength of us humans cannot be underestimated. It was evident in the video as people cheered at the sight of the survivor, though injured. This is exactly how the entire city and country can rise from all the rubble. Together ,carrying the down, on each others shoulders. More power to everyone of you.
