President Muhammadu Buhari has been called “weak” by Salihu Tanko Yakasai, a former media advisor to Abdullahi Ganduje, the governor of Kano State.
He stated this after the two-week ultimatum president Buhari gave for re-solution of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) strike elapsed.
I’ve never seen a president as weak as @MBuhari, Yakasai tweeted. His appointees are given orders, which they disregard without suffering any repercussions.
He ( president Buhari) set the ASUU strike a two-week deadline, but no one took it seriously and the deadline has reached, but no response, this is so shamefull and embarrassing, According to Yakasai
On July 19, Buhari gave the Education Minister Mallam Adamu orders to end the protracted strike and report back to him in two weeks.
Due to the federal government’s refusal to accede to ASUU’s demands, they have been on strike since February 14, 2022.
Recently the Academic Staff Union Of Universities, ( ASUU) has also go for another 4 weeks strike.
