Another Lockdown? See yesterday’s new cases of COVID-19 reported in Nigeria.
Nigerians were previously warned against the second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic by the Nigeria Center for Disease Control. The second wave is already here.
In late November, the COVID-19 positive cases, which have significantly decreased in the past few months, unexpectedly increased.
On Thursday alone the country reported 675 new instances of the virus. The new rise has led the government to begin talking about another potential lockdown. In order to start reopening for the second wave of COVID-19, the government has also guided numerous isolation centers that have closed down.
Notice that the country went on lockdown between March and May, which negatively affected the economy. Many Nigerians are yet to recover from the government’s enforced lockdown.
With new cases being reported on a daily basis, it is not clear that this time around the government will not enforce another lockdown with strict laws.
