Prof. Ango Abdullahi, convener of the Northern Elders’ Forum (NEF), has stated that neither Atiku Abubakar, presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), nor Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), can solve Nigeria’s problems.
In an interview with Vanguard, Abdullahi stated that if Tinubu or Atiku were elected president, Nigeria would descend into chaos and that neither candidate had anything to offer the country.
According to him, the Labour Party’s Peter Obi and the New Nigeria People’s Party’s (NNPP) Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso are superior contenders for president.
“No, we still do not have the individual we believe can fix Nigeria.” What we have on the ground is inadequate. “How can you look at Tinubu and Atiku and say they’ll fix this country?” he questioned.
He stated that both Tinubu and Atiku have been prominent in political circles for a long time without commensurate achievements.
They’ve been on the ground for 25, 30, and so on. What do they have done? What are we trying to find? I prompted a technocrat to join this consensus. You may have likely spotted Mohammed Hayatu-Deen in the group of PDP members searching for consensus arrangements. I was among those who supported him. Unfortunately, we have no materials on the ground.
Unfortunately, I do not know Peter Obi that well. He is a young guy, a former governor of Anambra State, and an entrepreneur.
He (Kwankwaso) is a fine, youthful man. He began his political career with us and is highly intelligent. It is undeniably true. Obviously, he incurred some debts, joined other political parties, etc., but he is undeniably one of the most intelligent individuals in the area. There is no doubt about that.
I believe we have had a subpar selection of politicians. Regarding Prof. Osinbajo, I am not acting in a self-serving manner, despite the fact that some of them were seen competing. “He is of high quality, but the political system cannot tolerate him,” he remarked.
