After picking the presidential ticket of the Labour Party, Peter Obi has been on the news as he seeks the support of Nigerians to defeat APC and PDP to win the 2023 presidential election.

A report by Vanguard on Tuesday showed that the former Niger State Governor, Babangida Aliyu has chided Peter Obi over his ambition to be the next president and take over the baton of leadership from the incumbent President Muhammadu Buhari.

Babangida acknowledged that Peter Obi is an excellent person but believed 2023 is too early for him to win the Nigeria presidential election even though young people might go for him. He explained that Peter Obi’s name is not dropping everywhere else and added that Nigerians are not ready for him now as a presidential candidate. d1f2f99f561040c8bb5c0febd74bd73e

The former Niger State Governor added that he thinks Peter Obi will make some name now and added that he may be able to make his presidential ambition in 2031 on the ground that 2023 is too early.

Babangida Aliyu said, “I think he will make some name now. But he may be able to make it only in 2027, 2031. But 2023? Too early”.

He revealed that he would have loved Peter Obi as a PDP Vice President and disclosed how they were rooting for him to be the running mate of Atiku Abubakar again before he joined Labour Party and eventually emerged as the presidential candidate of the party.
